We have lived on Garston Park for 7 years first dealing with Joe, owner, then with Steve, site manager, it was very straightforward being shown different plots. We received excellent advice and support when choosing the right unit for our needs. We are very happy with our choice to live on Garston Park which is quiet and would recommend it as a place to live.
In 2019 our mortgage was due to finish on our house in Horley and we discussed the next phase of our life and what we should do. The options were to remortgage, get an apartment, downsize to a smaller house or a park home. My wife had previously lived in a park home as a child and was keen to look at those options.
We started investigating this option and made appointments to look at show homes at 2 companies Prestige and Tingdene. Seeing the build quality and so many options that were available we decided to go down the park home route.
We looked at a couple of second hand homes on the Cambridge Lodge Park site but we were in the fortunate position that we decided to purchase a new home with all the warranties and benefits that came with this. In fact this is where my wife lived previously.
One of the main reasons we chose the Cambridge Lodge Park is the location, ease of travel via car or public transport, being on a main bus route and within easy walking distance of local convenience shops and the town. Also Gatwick is a few minutes drive away to jet off for a welcome break.
We got In touch with Mr Cooper who owns the Cambridge Lodge Park, he met us for an informal chat over coffee to discuss all the options. He showed us potential plots that were available and after picking the right one for us he put us in contact with a salesperson from Stately Albion and we arranged to discuss all options of purchasing a new one.
We decided on a 40 x 12 model and proceeded to design all of the inside options of which there are umpteen to choose from, you can never have too many! Some do cost extra but we wanted to make the best home possible and to ensure it was perfect from the start so we upgraded various items and features.
We receiving a draft drawing and after making a few revisions we signed the contract and paid 50% deposit to start the build. We were kept informed all through the build process of how things were going and approx 3 months later our new home was finished and delivered to site. That was a very exciting day, even some new neighbours came to watch. After delivery Mr Coopers team came to start the exterior works, as per our requirements, new fencing, laid patios and all the Items we had requested. We even got to choose our own colour of bricks for the skirting.
Approximately 3 weeks after the home had been placed and had all water gas and electric connected we paid the remainder of the purchase costs and moved in.
We can honestly say it has been the best move we have made and we have a lovely detached home on a very friendly park with great neighbours and friends.
The purchase and order process was easy and straight forward and I have spent the last few years putting our stamp on the home.
The homes come with warranties from the maker that are equal if not better than new home builds and we have had no issues what so ever.
When buying, we recommend to do your homework, visit a couple of showrooms if possible and make sure what you require is discussed with park owner and home supplier and you should have a pleasant smooth process as we did. we love it.
Thanks to Mr Cooper for making it such a stress free, pleasant experience, we would definitely recommend a park home to anyone eligible.
